Installation

Presentable is a Microsoft Office Add-in that runs inside PowerPoint. Installation takes about a minute.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint (desktop app, Microsoft 365 or Office 2021+)
  • Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+
  • An active internet connection
  • A Presentable account (join the waitlist for early access)
  1. Open PowerPoint and create or open any presentation
  2. Click Insert in the top ribbon
  3. Click Get Add-ins (or Office Add-ins on some versions)
  4. In the search bar, type Presentable
  5. Click Add next to the Presentable listing
  6. Accept the permissions prompt

The Presentable icon will appear in your Home ribbon tab. Click it to open the task pane.

If you received a direct installation link:

  1. Click the link — it will open the Microsoft AppSource page for Presentable
  2. Click Get it now
  3. Sign in with your Microsoft account if prompted
  4. Open PowerPoint — the add-in will be available automatically

For development or early-access testing with a manifest file:

  1. Open PowerPoint
  2. Go to InsertGet Add-insMy Add-ins
  3. Click Upload My Add-in at the bottom of the dialog
  4. Browse to your manifest.xml file and click Upload

  2. Go to InsertGet Add-insMy Add-ins
  3. Click the menu in the bottom-left corner
  4. Select Upload My Add-in
  5. Browse to your manifest.xml file and click Upload

Admins can deploy Presentable to all users in an organization:

  1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center
  2. Navigate to SettingsIntegrated apps
  3. Click Upload custom apps
  4. Upload the manifest file and assign users or groups

After installation:

  1. Click the Presentable icon in your ribbon to open the task pane
  2. Click Sign in
  3. Enter your Presentable credentials
  4. The chat interface appears once authenticated
  • Restart PowerPoint — close all PowerPoint windows completely, then reopen
  • Check if it’s installed — go to InsertGet Add-insMy Add-ins and look for Presentable in the list. If it’s there, click it to re-activate
  • Clear the Office cache (Windows): close PowerPoint, delete the folder at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef\ and restart
  • Clear the Office cache (macOS): close PowerPoint, delete ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Documents/wef/ and restart
  • Update PowerPoint — go to FileAccountUpdate OptionsUpdate Now
  • Check your internet connection — Presentable requires an active connection to run
  • Disable any VPN or firewall that might block *.presentable.so
  • Try InsertGet Add-insMy Add-ins, remove Presentable, then reinstall

The task pane is blank or shows a white screen

  • Click the × to close the task pane, then reopen it from the ribbon
  • Clear your browser cache — Office add-ins use an embedded browser. On Windows, press Ctrl+Shift+Delete inside the task pane
  • Make sure your Office version is up to date
  • Verify you have an active Presentable account
  • Check that cookies and JavaScript are not blocked by your organization’s group policies
  • Try signing out and back in from the task pane menu

The add-in loads but nothing happens when I send a message

  • Check your internet connection
  • Look for a warning banner at the top of the task pane — it will indicate if the service is temporarily unavailable
  • Try closing and reopening the task pane

Some organizations restrict Office add-in installation. If you see a message like “Your administrator has turned off this feature”:

  1. Contact your IT admin and ask them to allow the Presentable add-in
  2. Alternatively, your admin can deploy it organization-wide via the Microsoft 365 admin center (see above)
  3. Provide your admin with the Presentable manifest URL if they request it
